MARIA EUGENIA MOYA

Born in Lima, 1985. Graduated in Audiovisual Communications from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Lima 2008). Studied for two years at Corriente Alterna art school (Lima, Peru / 2011) transferring afterwards to The Art Institute of Chicago, graduated in Fine Arts from her second bachelor’s degree (USA / 2013). She has since participated in collective art exhibitions in Lima, Chicago, Buenos Aires, Providence, Boston and New York. Maria Eugenia finished her MFA in Sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design in June 2018. Three month resident of EKWC the European Ceramic Work Center (December 2021 - March 2022). Selected for the International Contemporary Material Art Biennale of China hosted at the Nanchizi Museum located in Beijing and the Haitian Sky Art Center in Qingdao. She is currently living and working in Lima.

 
 

IVET SALAZAR

Born in Lima, 1989. Having graduated from the Arts and Design Faculty at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, she further complemented her studies at École des Beaux Arts du Mans in France, while also taking illustration, education, ceramics and weaving classes at various institutions. Salazar has participated in several collective exhibitions inside the country and abroad. Recent participations include the "Hilos de la [a]tradición" (also "(A)Tradition threads") at Museo Julio C. Tello, in Paracas, Peru; Salón de Arte Joven Nikkei at Instituto Cervantes in Tokio, Japan; "Hilos de la [a]tradición" at San Marcos Museum in Lima Peru; amongst others. She has also done solo exhibitions such as "Textiles cerámicos: por la fragilidad de nuestra memoria" (also "Ceramic textiles: for our memories fragility") at Museo Qorikancha in Cusco, Peru. Recently, her artistic work is practices within the field of ceramics and textiles, contemplating topics of identity and culture.

 

VERÓNICA PENAGOS

Born in Lima, 1990. Magister in Arts & Design Research at Centro Universitario de Diseño y Arte in Barcelona (EINA) and Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain. Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Currently works as a painter and multidisciplinar artist. Penagos has participated in several art group shows and international art fairs in Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland and South Africa. Her latest participations includes “Cuerpo Indeterminado” at La Infinita, Barcelona; “Joseph Beuys, 100 años después” organized by BLOC Art Perú at Laboraleatorio art space in Lima; “Sputnik” at Casa Museo José Carlos Mariátegui in Lima and Alianza Francesa, Cusco Perú; “Nuevos Tiempos” MAD, Museo Andrés del Castillo or Museo de Minerales. Also has a couple of solo shows in Lima and Callao, Peru. Finalist of the 1st and 2nd drawing contest organized by the Cultural Center of Británico in Peru.

Liliana Avalos

Born in Lima in 1974. Graduated from Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú in Plastic and Visual Arts. A very versatile artists who has participated in several collective exhibitions abroad and many local solo exhibitions. Her work shows the dayly life at home and her surroundings, she records it through photography to turn this into silk-screen prints, embroidery, sewing and soft sculpture, among others.

Member of one of the pioneer families who started the “Chicha” adversiting movement in the capital of Peru. A versatile artist that focus in silk-screen printing, calligraphy, lettering and urban art. Elliot is an autodidact artist raised in a traditional family of artisans from Huancayo (Sierra of Peru), becoming one of the representatives of Peruvian folk art. His colorful calligraphy is a feature in his art work and in all of the murals he creates around the world.

Born in the native community of La Colonia in the Amazons, Loreto - Peru in 1986. His paintings include dripping and dying techniques based in traditional abstract painting among other currents. The different figures and lines are subtle and elegant with intense colors and amazing characters such as animals, people and nature.

 

ANA DE ORBEGOSO

Interdisciplinary artist. Lives between New York and Lima. Her artistic practice explores different aspects of individual identity and social through the use of popular iconographies and prefabricated situations. Her techniques vary from photography, video, sculpture, painting and installations. Her purpose is to confront the observer with a mirror in order to awake the memory, analysis and recognition.

 
 

LESCANO

Born in Lima, Peru. 1963. Recognized plastic artist with several individual exhibitions around the world -NY, Boston, Ottawa, Chateauroux, Barcelona, Madrid, Buenos Aires. Official curator for the South Region in the Hispanic Bienal of Bronx. Selected to represent Peru at the 6th Symposium Junge Kunst in Gütersloh, Germany on 2000. Main leader of one of the most important silk screen workshops in the country.

PATICA JENKINS

Born in Arequipa, Peru. Patricia (Patica) Jenkins Gibson studied Law in Universidad Católica “Santa Maria“ in Arequipa. Autodidact artist who started painting 10 years ago and is considered as one of the continuing artists of Concrete Art movement. She has participated in solo and collective art shows in Peru as art fairs such as ARCO Madrid, MAPA in Argentina, Art Lima in Peru and HelpPeru Gala event at Metropolitan Club in New York. Belongs to MACBA collection.

 
 

HEYDI MORI

Born in Huánuco, Perú in 1985. Visual Artist, studied Architecture and Urbanism at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and in the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería. Graduated from Arts with a mayor in Sculpture at Escuela de Bellas Artes de Lima,Perú.

Chosen for "La Fabrique" art residency organized by Alliance Francaise in 2020 - 2021. Part of Rimay pedagogical art project.

CHRISTIAN BENDAYAN

Born in Iquitos, 1973. Paintor, photographer and the most famous Amazonian art-mover. His style is inspired in the chromaticism of Iquitos culture and the Peruvian Amazon mythology. On 2009 Bendayán had his first solo show “Luz” or “Light” in Galería Enlace in Lima Peru and from that moment on he has participated and hosted several art exhibitions around the world. He is currently participating in the Venice Biennial.

 
 

ISSY BARSALLO

Born in Lima, Peru, 1981. Barsallo is a multidisciplinary artist who experiments integrating mixed media such as installation, ready made and animation. Graduated from Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes ENSABAP (Fine Arts School) with a specialty on etchings. On 2016 she wins two prizes: Golden Medal on Etchings specialty and distinction for “Best Interdisciplinary Project” at the Fine Arts School. Between 2001 and 2010 she immerses into wigs design and tailoring for movies and tv in Los Angeles, California - USA working at Robert Kretschmer studio including projects for movies such as Alice in wonderland, Pirates of Caribbean, Gladiator and Narnia.

SEIMIEK

Born in Lima on 1982. Urban artist, sculptor and painter with national and international recognition. He has publications and exhibitions in different countries around the world such as Sweden, England, Germany, France, Australia and USA. One of the founders of a pioneer Peruvian graffiti crew “Fumakaka”, Seimiek is influenced by Peruvian folklore and pop art with his unique touch. An imaginery which combines this with dark circus culture vibe and a dosis of santeria. He redefines public space with paint and graffiti. Reinventing space through his scenographies and walls he manages to catch the viewers eye in and outdoors.

CARMEN REATEGUI

Born in 1946. Graduated from Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Lima in 1998. She has been recognized as First Mention at Fine Arts School - Cristina Galvez promotion, Honorable mention "Nuevos Valores” in Universidad Católica del Perú and Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes on 1989, Honorable Mention at IV International Biennial in Florence on 2003. Her focus is on art projects with a social essence and multidisciplinary cut. Currently works and makes research on projects commited to society; as recycling, pollution, gender abuse, drug addiction. Reategui has participated in several solo shows in Ecuador, Suiza, Austria and Peru. Besides collective art shows in Chile, among other countries.

 
 

josE tola

Born in Lima in 1943. Died in Lima on 2019. From 1963 to 1969 studies at Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, Spain where he graduates as Professor of painting and drawing. Belongs to many international and local art collections as public art pieces in the United States, Mexico and Peru.

VERONICA CERNA

Born in Lima. Cerna is a photographer and videographer. She studied a major in Audiovisual Communications at the Universidad de Lima, posgraduate studies on photography at The International Center of Photography in New York and specialisation courses on fashion photography and experimental video in Buenos Aires. Her work has been featured on the International Photography Awards, Musée Magazine, Shots Magazine, The Photo Phore, Better Photograhy and Revista Pecado. She is currently working between Lima and New York.

 
 

CLAUDIA CAFFARENA

Since the beginning until today she follows a conceptual and aesthetics line for ceramics as she considers it a very personal and intimate process that reflects her identity, past and present, tradition and history. Caffarena transports us to an anthropological and magical-religious world, a new imaginary built to dialogue and speak about being latina, what we are and makes us unique and different.

 

WYLLY MEDRANO ZUMAETA

Graduated in Arts from Pontificia Peruana Universidad Católica del Perú. He is the Director of APUFF, the yearly independent art fair of Lima and also of “Water (water closet) Espacio-Critico” which is an artistic platform for events. On 2014 he completed a residency through Residencias Artisticas por Intercambio (R.A.T.) in Mexico City. He has held exhibitions in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, USA, Mexico and Peru.

luis miguel diaz piccone

Born in Lima. 1978. Since a child he was very interested in Arts. During 1997 he studied Administration career but only for two years as after that he decided to move to Montreal, Canada. In this new city he took Art classes at Concordia University and nourished from French Canadian cultural scene. His trips confirmed his taste for volumes, big formats and black and white colors, using only painting to create textures and depth.

Born in Lima in 1969. Cherman is a graphic artist and recognized as a longtime fighter to show Peruvian graphic & popular art to the world. He has claimed the most representative characters in our country with his own style. Portrays historic characters, singers, soccer players, poets, writers, among others. ANGIE BONINO

Born in Lima on 1974. Bonino is an artist and graphic designer. She studied at the ENSABAP Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Perú (National School of Fine Arts), and has a degree in Painting. She has done an artistic labor inside the disciplines of electronic arts, such as video art, video installation, net art, performance. On 2005 graduated from a Masters on Interactive systems at Mecad – Universidad Ramón Llull in Barcelona, Spain and right after a Masters in Informatic Security. Director of VIDEOAKT Bienalle from 2008 - 2015 in Barcelona and Berlín. Through her work she makes a critical analysis of the electronic communication media, raising the new ethical dilemma connected with their use in the arts. For Bonino, the products of artistic and scientific creation that resound in global activities often contain a dual load that oscillates between profit or benefit and manipulation.

EMILIO LONGHI

Born in Lima in 1988 as a son to photographer parents, surfer and father to dogs. After graduating with a specialisation in Sculpture from the Escuela Nacional Superior Autonoma de Bellas Artes del Peru, he managed cultural projects, such as Galería Ambulante and Escuela Libre de Arte (ELA). He now boasts five years of experience as an arts pedagogue for Peruvian institutions and communities, curatorial experience based on numerous group exhibitions at galleries and cultural centres across the country, intervention experiences in public spaces, as well as knowledge in stage direction, public speaking at talks and art direction and finally experience as jury member at sculpture competitions.

SANDRA CACERES SIMMONS

Born in Arequipa, located in the south of Peru, the country's alpaca fiber textile center. She worked as design head and as commercial and product development manager in the alpaca and cotton spinning and knitting-weaving industries. Cáceres found in the textile art a means of expression and a peculiar way to explore ideas and concepts related to the origin of life, the cultural traditions of the pre-Hispanic and Colonial Peru and lastly the country's history as well as the history of great civilizations can be told through textiles. She wanted to know where the fibers came from, how camelids were raised and textures and colors were attained.

 

ARIANA MACEDO

Born in Lima, Peru, 1976. Lives and works in Lima. Graduated in Arts with a mayor in Painting at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and with studies in Education at the same University. First prize of the XIV National Painting Contest by Banco Central de la Reserva del Perú (BCRP) 2023, finalist at ICPNA Contemporary Arts Awards Británico Cultural Center Drawing contest, amongst others. She has participated in several local and international group shows and one of her latest solo shows has been hosted at the Cultural Center in the San Agustin University located in Arequipa city.

VICTOR DELFIN

Born in Lobitos, Piura North of Peru on 1927. One of the most important living artists in the country. Multidisciplinary artist who has created several public art pieces. He has participated in the Declaration of Human Rights on 1998 at Palais de Chaillot in Paris. He was awarded by Ecuatorian Government on 2000, by Peruvian Government with Commander grade in 2001 and Chilean Government in 2002.

Born in Lima, 1990. Graduated in etching career from Universidad Católica del Perú. Co-founder of Membrana Editorial and creator of Polen Ceramic Studio. MARTIN LOPEZ DE ROMANA

Born in Arequipa on 1975. Graduated from Theology and Philosophy in Lima at the Facultad de Teología Pontificia y Civil. After fourteen years of been part of a Peruvian religious congregation, Lopez de Romana decided to consecrate to Literature and Arts. Born in Austria. Flow so fly is a contemporary artist who has been publishing work since April 2015. The artists doesn’t reveal gender nor age on purpose so you won’t be able to make any judgement in advance.

I am fascinated by the creative challenge to express the beauties and complexities of life and intimacy in simple lines. I am trying to publish a new artwork every day on Instagram and Pinterest. I write accompanying words to my art”.

JOSEFINA MUSLERA (argentina)

Born in Buenos Aires, 1976. Multidisciplinary artist working in land art, painting, installation, theatre, and performance. She has shown her projects in important Argentinian institutions as the Cultural Centre of Recoleta, “Dr. Urbano Poggi” Museum, Provincia Bank Museum and Cultural Centre Borges. Belongs to different art collections around the world. On 2017 starts the new project “Cuerpo expandido” or “Expanded body”, which explores different sites around Argentina and now Peru where she lives.

boom boom kid (ARGENTINA)

Born in Campana, Argentina on 1972. Carlos Rodriguez is a musician, artist and songwriter, famous as part of the hardcore punk band Fun People and who is currently in the band Boom Boom Kid. Also known by various aliases as: Nekro, Boom Boom Kid and Il Carlo. He has released several CDs, DVDs, records and books.

“I create art as a need to fill the walls of my house or the van mobile while I’m on a tour. I stock many different handcuts and pictures that I’ve collected during time and is shown in my very first solo show in BLOC Art Peru. This is how I unplug from thinking about what’s wrong with our world… it’s all about how to add color to blank spots. I love it, it’s amusing and is therapeutical, same way as the music I create.” - BBK

OSIRIS CISNEROS (Cuba)

Born in Cuba on 1985 in one of the most central neighborhoods of Havana, El Vedado in La Habana. From a very early age he developed a marked fondness for any surface that showed an image, spent hours browsing through magazine pages or watching movies, thus creating an aesthetic background in his memory from childhood. Already in adolescence, due to an evident lack of interest in the basic subjects of secondary education, he decided to begin his training as an artist and enrolled in the Polytechnic Institute "Pablo de la Torriente Brau", where he trained as an intermediate technician in craftsmanship in the specialty of ceramics. At the same time, in the course of 5 years he graduated from advanced drawing workshops and then took the examination of the Academy of Fine Arts, "San Alejandro".
